4. Characteristics

This product is solid powder.

5. Scope of Application

This product should be used together with hemodialysis acid solution or hemodialysis acid powder for hemodialysis or hemofiltration treatment.

6. Method of Application

  • Only tobe used in combination with acid concentrate for bicarbonate hemodialysis in the given dilution according to a physician prescription. Other dilutions can endanger patient.
  • For safe use, the dialysis sessions must be carried out by personnel qualified in hemodialysis, conversant with both the current instruction for use and the operating instruction manual of the dialysis machine used.
  • More detailed instructions are given in the operating instructions for the hemodialysis machine.

7. Technical Indicators

84g of Sodium Bicarbonate can be dissolved in 1L of water to make a saturated concentrate solution:

  • Pyrogen Bacterial Endotoxin should be no more than 0.5EU/ml;
  • PH value The value should be maintained in the range 7.0-7.8;
  • Microbial limits Total bacterial count should be no more than 100 CFU/ml.

8. Composition and mode of the alkaline bicarbonate hemodialysis concentrate 

1000ml of the concentrate contains:

Sodium bicarbonate 100g

Equivalent to: Na+ 1190mmol

                            HCO3– 1190mmol

Sufficient for a dialysis session lasting approx. 4-6 hours based on a dialysate flow of 500 ml/min and a sodium bicarbonate concentration of 35 mmol/l.

9. Notice

  • Keep the cartridge tightly sealed until it is connected to the dialysis machine;
  • Do not use this product if it expires or its pouch is damaged;
  • Discard any residues at the end of dialysis in accordance with local regulations;
  • For hemodialfiltration application (Online HDF procedure), special attention should be paid to the water quality in order to meet the requirements in the applicable standards and/or the European Pharmacopoela for hemodiafiltration solutions.

10. Contraindication

  • Hyperkalaemia (only for hemodialysis concentrates yielding a potassium concentration in the ready-to-use dialysis fluid of 4 mmol/L or higher),
  • Hypokalaemia (only for hemodialysis concentrates yielding a potassium concentration in the ready-to-use dialysis fluid of 3mmol/L or lower).

Potential adverse effects of rapid plasma potassium concentration changes should be considered when prescribing a patient’s dialysis fluid potassium concentration. Uncontrollable coagulation anomalies.

11. Storage

  • Please avoid crash or exposure to rain, snow or direct sunlight during transportation.
  • Store it in 0℃~40℃
  • Well-ventilated indoor place without corrosive gas
  • Do not store it in warehouse with poisonous articles or articles with an unpleasant odor.
